The owner is so sweet and kind. The restaurant is covered in plants and the walls are covered in hand drawn doodles. plenty of board games (including mancala!). The spinach dip is TO DIE FOR. love this place
I love Kitchen 17. This is the place to go for vegan deep dish! Crust thay stays crisp, savory and slightly sweet sauce, and the "sausage" crumbles all make for a crave worthy pizza.
The buffalo cauliflower wings are fantastic, too. Extra crispy and crunchy with tender cauliflower inside. I would definitely reccomend this to anyone!
But I gotta say, the mac and cheese is my favorite thing I've tried here. So creamy and savory!
The desserts here are always so good when you're craving something sweet at the end of your meal. Can't wait to come back here!
So... I pay a family member to dry freez and ship a large vegan deep dish once a month. I love this place having visit Chicago to often, I find that Kitchen 17 is a home away from home. You can taste the originality in every bite. I was introduced to this place by a singer friend of mine who told me they also have their quotes written on the walls of the restaurant. I'm proud to be a fan favorite of Kitchen 17!
The "milkshakes" are amazing. But if you aren't used to eating vegan food beware - you might get a stomach ache. But my vegetarian friends had a great time. Food was quite delicious and unique. Would go back for the shakes. Wait times are very long and there's no place to sit and wait.
This place is amazing! I work on the west side, live on the south side, but drove up north after work to try this place and I’m SO glad I did! The pizza, fried cauliflower and cake were to die for! My boyfriend is vegan and wanted some deep dish pizza, so he googled, “vegan deep dish Chicago” and Kitchen 17 popped up. So we really just tried it on a whim but we will DEFINITELY be back!
