Gather

We had their donut, biscuits and gravy, house fries, and soft scramble. Everything tuned out perfectly delicious. The restaurant has a nice decor and the staff is amazing. I enjoyed watching the staff work in such great harmony even when it was so busy - fast, helping each other, attending to the customers, very soft spoken, and professional.
Also I happened to wear a check shirt for brunch today and the staff were all wearing check shirts too. I felt like I was part of the team, thought I'd get some employee discount.

Great food from beginning to end. I also enjoyed how the serve you separate plates, even when you share a meal so you still get all the flavors in each bite. Their bread pudding is to die for.

I can't believe I've never reviewed this before. Gather is wonderful. The food is amazing. The drinks are very well-crafted! They have a great back patio. The space is small, and so getting in can be tough but it's worth the wait! The Fried Chicken and Waffles are as good as they get! But then you have to choose between the fried chicken and waffles and the biscuits and gravy which are also incredible. Really cool atmosphere! There is a kitchen bar where you can sit and watch the cooking, but it's on the main drag right in the middle of all the traffic. I would choose a table in the back or the far front. There are seats at the bar but they are also right in the middle of the main drag which is narrow and distracting. This is a great place to stop in for awesome tee, awesome coffee, awesome crafted drinks, amazing food, and what else is there?

Gather is my #1 favorite restaurant in Chicago! Great place for a casual night out or a nice, fancy night out. The perfect spot for any occasion. The seasonal farm-to-table, chef-driven menu never disappoints! Their brunch is also amazing and so are their family Sunday dinners. Delicious cocktails, attentive and friendly staff, and warm atmosphere all year round. They also have a heated patio in the back. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Without question Gather has quickly become on of my favorite restaurants. Ever. The location is ideal with over 50% seats dedicated to locals walking in. Upon entering you are immediately greeted with their amazing staff who treat you like family. There are no bad seats here and even sitting at the bar guarantees you an awesome experiences as their bar tender Jimmy is super personable and really knows his cocktails. He had my husband and I laughing the whole time.

Now... the good stuff. The food. I cannot express just how excellent the food is here. We have tried just about everything on the menu and I would eat it all again. But if you can’t order everything—get the half chicken. Oh. My. God. is it mouth wateringly delicious. Appetizers are awesome for splitting to really allow for variety as well.
