Uncle Joe's Jerk

Inconsistent. It's so disappointing when you get dry chicken which is obviously old and recooked. I had jerk wings for lunch today and both the wings and the fries were old. This is at least the third time that I can recall getting old chicken from them. And for them to be giving you old chicken, there's no reason that you should have to wait 20-30 minutes for your order. It also doesn't help that it takes them a long time to answer the telephone and/or they have you on hold for a long time when you call in your order. It also doesn't help that there can be times where you have to stand at the window for multiple minutes before someone greets you. I love jerk chicken and I really try to support small businesses, but this Uncle Joe's location is really trying my patience. Is unfortunate that there are so few jerk chicken restaurants to choose from on the south side of Chicago.

The chicken is pretty good. I asked if bread comes with the order only to not get the bread. They never have Mac and cheese. Probably my last visit here

The jerk chicken is never dry always moist and juicy.
Their Curry dishes are very popular especially the curry goat.. Everything from stewed chicken, braised oxtails, 2 red snapper, callaloo, even your soul food side dishes everything is quite tasty and Uncle Joe's jerk
