At first I didn't think this place was going to impress much, but usually restaurants like this I like to try out their steak.... Really shows you how good there Grill is in the back . Had their steak tacos and absolutely off the chain. Well seasoned
I enjoy coming here with my family, but I think the service could use better training. Three last few times I've came, the waitresses hardly check up on you, and it took a long time to get our check. I think we waited almost 45 minutes one time to get the check after we were done eating. I notice sometimes the staff are too engaged in conversation for long periods of time with other workers and certain customers. Other than that I don't have any other complaints.
Food is consistently good, but the one item that stands out is the pastor tacos. Cocula's was one of the first restaurants in the area that carried true pastor tacos; where the meat is cooked on a gyros type vertical cooker rather than just tossing spices on pork and cooking it on a flat grill. The best way to order them is just with onion and cilantro or plain so you can get the full flavor of the meat.
One of my favorite places to sneak off to. They always have parking spots available in their lot. Don't get freaked out when you see it almost full, it'll still be seats in there. Even when it's crowded, they are amazingly fast with your orders. The waitresses are all very nice ladies and very attentive to your needs. Food is plentiful and great tasting. Although you'll probably get full from the tortilla shells and salsa they bring out before dinner.
