Service was a bit mediocre, in their defense it was busy with 3 big parties in there. Limited seating. The appetizers were really good. Pizza was ok though. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years. Even before they moved to their current location. I recall the pizza tasting better. VERY AFFORDABLE
The service is decent. The mussels are awesome in a garlic butter sauce with fresh bread to sop up the briney liquid. The red sauce for eggplant parmigiana and ravioli was on the neutral side. I added red pepper flakes and salt to kick up my dish. The eggplant and pasta was cooked perfect. BYOB but they do charge a cork fee.
Love this place. Wish it was bigger but I always take out anyways. My fab dish to go to is chicken Florentine !!! The best. Pizza is juicy never dry fresh veggies etc.
Warm home baked bread with parmesan and olive oil to begin, for free. Eric, the host, is both friendly and thoughtful. He proceeds with grace and gratitude throughout the dining experience. BYOB, they do not charge a corkage fee. They serve all things Italian. ???? is my choice at Caponies. Wood burning brick oven whose pleasant wafts of smoke adds to the cozy atmosphere. They have over a dozen combination pizzas for your pleasure. The white pizza is strictly no meat and mouth watering. The Supremo comes with a delicate blend of Italian sausage and pepperoni covered by mountains of mozzarella, fresh onions, peppers, and to die for mushrooms. Largest pizza is around $20 and can serve 3 to 4 easily. NEVER have been disappointed at this restaurant. Highly recommend. BTW they have a killer sauce on the wings appetizer.
Just discovered this place! I am not a huge fan of Chicago pizza (more of a NYC type of girl) However, this is good, authentic, Chicago style thin crust with the best toppings! The pepperoni isn’t buried under the cheese, sits on top so it can get a little crispy. The green peppers and onions (on their suprema pizza) are lightly cooked, still crisp too, and the mushrooms and sausage are delicious! My favorite pizza since coming to Chicago 5+ years ago. Great find!
