Onward Chicago

Love Onward Chicago! Really pleased that such a nice restaurant has opened in the Loyola Univ area. We used to have to go downtown for this level of dining and now, when we visit our daughter at school; no need to travel so far any longer. This evening was our first visit and we certainly enjoyed every dish. The soup of the day with kale, Italian sausage and chick peas was perfectly seasoned and wonderfully comforting on a chilly evening. We ordered the burger with fries and a steak for main course - both were precisely cooked as ordered; portions and side dishes were just right. No room for dessert but the cappuccino was a great way to end the meal. The decor is warm, comfortable and inviting. Hector was knowledgeable and provided attentive service throughout. Looking forward to returning on our next visit to Chicago.

Their entrees have a delicious, tingling, happy taste palette. I had the shrimp tacos with pickled cabbage. OMG! They served three tacos and a side salad. Just the right amount to leave me completely satisfied. The pickled cabbage was very activating and the shrimp were hearty. I think the taco shells were corn. So good! My sister had a vibrant, colorful, generous Cobb salad. I didn't try it but she loved. The served the best, freshest, most genuine brewed iced tea I have ever had in my life. Warm, slightly Southern feeling decor. Spotless glassware and silverware!!! I mean it was noteworthy how shiny it was!! The staff were professional, sweet, invested.

Valentine's Diner was amazing. The server was great. This food was interesting. Steak is amazing. The Rambler is an amazing drink.

What a surprise to find such an upscale, sophisticated spot in cozy Rogers Park! Sexy atmosphere in the intimate dining room but still a lively bar area which is laid out to keep the noise from pouring into the dining room. Food is brilliant and tasty with some clever uses of flavor and texture. I will definitely be back.

Wonderful experience! Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was excellent. We enjoyed lunch and brunch options. The special sauce on the burger was great, the roasted cauliflower soup was creamy and flavorful. They served the best latte I've had in a while. Even the desserts were outstanding.
