Been here a couple times and the food, drinks and atmosphere are really good. It is a bit pricier, and it is not an "authentic" style Mexican restaurant. It is meant to be a little more unique. You can taste that everything is made fresh, even the tortillas, which in my opinion is what makes the whole taco at this place. My wife from California says Big Star is the closest thing that reminds her of home.
Super fast service! Definitely would go back. Got our food before our drinks even though the bartender was making them as soon as we ordered. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Came here with my brother on Valentine's Day just for a quick bite. We expected the place to be crowded and moving slow due to the holiday. Our experience was the complete opposite! Amazing service, fast, fresh, and a fun staff. At a point my brother and I order tacos and counted down from 30 to see of the service would stay the same. The tacos arrived by the time we hit the last 10 seconds.
On one hand, this place offers very good food, great in taste and and high in quality. Service was good, considering that Saturday afternoon during our visit the place was packed, yet we didn’t have to wait for the table. Fish tacos are a must try, they were pretty amazing. On the other, they lack a verity of beer, considering that there is a full bar. Overall, I’d say that it’s a little bit overpriced for the quantity of food, but I am likely to go back.
Overall the tacos/meat were tasty well cooked and seasoned the tortillas were handmade I believe and not bad at all. My favorite tacos were the fish ones i definitely recommend them the chipotle sauce that came with the tacos was very good! The only problem I have with big star is that it’s over hyped and the restaurant itself is too crowded tables are to close to each other, seats were uncomfortable and tacos are definitely overpriced! The food itself isn’t authentic Mexican! I’ve had better tacos/Mexican food for way cheaper at other restaurants with better atmosphere!
