Hagen's Fish Market

Smoke garlic fish is phenomenal. Huge parking lot, so parking is not an issue. No sitting area. Fresh fish sandwich was awesome. Love it.

I’ve come here many times for smoked fish. I know they sell prepared and fried foods but the smoked fish is what I come for. I don’t know where else you’d go to find similar products and they surely wouldn’t be at this quality. When I get a hankering for kedgeree this is my destination. Highly recommended.

In terms of their seafood, I only go there because they have lutefisk. It seems like I am one of the only ones that ask for it, but I haven't found another place in Chicago that sells it. The rest of their seafood looks good, and it is always a popular place when I go.

Another locally owned businesses. Smoked fish and sandwiches in this place is finger licking good.. summer time is the best time for me because of their mini outdoor setup where you can enjoy your food while teasing the traffic with every single bite.. Price wise, for me its reasonable.

Love Hagen’s! It’s an unassuming little fish market off Montrose but if you ever find yourself in the neighborhood do yourself a favor and get their hush puppies, fried catch of the day, and the BBQ smoked salmon. You also won’t regret some crab salad. Wow. Being from the Pacific Northwest I mourn not being near the ocean and the perk of fish at every shop corner but Hagen’s has given me hope for the fish lovers trapped in Midwest!
