They have the best sushi in the South Loop at reasonable prices.
I strongly recommend the super white appetizer and the special tuna sashimi for the night, both of which melt in your mouth. I also recommend the mackerel sashimi. I do not like the seaweed appetizer, but I love the sauces that come with it.
For cooked entrees, I recommend the sea scallops (appetizer), and the Sea Bass prepared in butter; it is a little rich, but very good. They also have a good ribeye if you prefer.
They have a nice selection of sake, which I highly recommend to go with the sushi.
The sushi chefs at the sushi bar are very friendly, and accommodate special requests if someone in your party is allergic to anything. There is also a drink bar with a good selection of Japanese beers, sake and other liquors, but I've never ordered mixed drinks there.
Overall, it is a great sushi restaurant.
While the space is amazing decorated and an South loop.... friend and attentive staff and there's never a wait... but in my opinion the sushi is less than desirable. For 12 you expect $12-14 worth of sushi. We received rolls that had more rice that other ingredients... the salmon and other ingredients in my Popper were so small I couldn't taste them... perhaps they will reconsider quantities. I love sushi and have been here before. Maybe it was a bust for me because I went there on a Friday night at 11pm. But heck there were only 3 other tables with people so one would expect great food to go with the great service...
It’s great to have a good sushi spot on the south side. The quality of the sushi is good and the prices are reasonable. The specialty rolls are what stand out the most. The service is always friendly...though orders can sometimes take a little while to arrive. An added bonus is that it is byob (think there may be a nominal cork fee)...though it only says so in the restaurant, and not anywhere online. Another bonus is there is a free parking lot for the restaurant across the street as well.
Fresh food and great service! The restaurant was so busy with taking in endless deliver orders and our food was delayed. But it was worth waiting. The manager offered us discount for the wait. I would definitely go back again!
My favorite sushi spot! Their hot foods are really good as well. Always fresh, always delicious. Dark, chill environment, really good for dates. Same time it's mildly kid friendly-(they have high chairs). Love their tempura seaweed and the ginger sauce it comes with is delicious. King coast crab is ????????????
