The food was great and very filling. As a Chicagoan I never go to navy pier for anything because the food is usually overpriced and underwhelming. BUT THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC. We had hush puppies to start, the chicken sandwich and the shrimp and grits. The portions were so filling we were too stuffed to order dessert. I would definitely go back. And we actually got to meet Chef Art Smith. He was super nice & welcoming.
Brand new restaurant. I tried to book a reservation online but there wasn't one available. So I prayed they were accepting walk-ins. It was my lucky day because I was seated right away. The food was excellent. Try the GOAT CHEESE BUTTERMILK DROP BISCUITS. Staff was friendly. Even Chef Art Smith stopped by to any hi.
Highly anticipated and was not let down. I was trying to think of better fried chicken I've had before and couldn't think of a place. A menu that is a true treat and unique to Chicago. Great Southern cooking. That is just the cusp of a great menu. The fresh squeezed lemonade is a must. The Mac and cheese is award winning. Great decor Inside and great music. Chicago you have a winner here and a must stop on your list, whether you are local or visiting. Did I mention the great outdoor patio. 5 STARS!!!
While at Navy Pier against my wishes I was worried about what kind of tourist type food I would have to experience. I couldn't have been more wrong. We ate outside under the shade and experienced a wonderful meal. Prior to to arriving at the Pier I had a conversation explicitly stating how the Pier needed a restaurant I could recommend. Chef Art's Reunion is just the place. The chicken and fried green tomatoes were excellent, the chocolate pecan pie was delicious and the staff courteous. After being apprehensive I will now have to bring the family and friends to enjoy a meal together at this establishment.
We went to Reunion for their friends and family opening. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so kind and welcoming. The staff is super friendly. For their first dinner service, everything was very smooth and the food was DELICIOUS! The restaurant is beautiful - a great addition to the pier. Can’t wait to come back again when they’re in full swing.
