Girl & The Goat

I’m honored to be the 4,000th review for this great restaurant. My only issue with G&TG is that I didn’t try it sooner. You won’t find any typical dishes here, but that’s the beauty of it. The chef creates combinations of flavors you never thought were possible. This place makes for an extremely unique food experience and is an absolute must for anyone who isn’t “picky”

First time visitor but certainly not the last time...fantastic dinner! Service was great and waiter gave great recommendations. It’s a testament to say I would have ordered everything the exact same and skipped the bread (which is also fantastic with the onion butter spread). The Goat Fashioned cocktail was amazing as well!

I can safely say this is not an over-hyped place. It is crazy, getting a reservation here but you can walk in and wait for a spot at the bar. And Jesus WOW is the food good. A bit pricey but very worth it.

Food is 'family style' but the portion size on each dish is more like an appetizer for one person. Example: order the scallops, priced $20, and you'll get 2 seared scallops in sauce. This will lead to empty bellies or empty wallets. However, the taste was quite good and the service was fantastic. The atmosphere was also very good but the music was a bit loud. Overall, delicious but overpriced.

We got the crispy pork shanks and green beans with fish sauce and cashews meal kit. It was totally delicious, and made us think how much we would like to go back to Chicago some day. The kit came with very detailed instructions, which was good because there are so many components to it. I would never make a good chef as I don't have the knack for all the little details, but I thought it looked pretty darn good, and tasted even better. If you can't get to Chicago for the real thing, this is for sure the next best way to try this wonderful restaurant.
