KALA Modern Greek

This is not your typical Greek restaurant. KALA has gourmet ingredients like fennel and orange slices. My wife loved that they provide big lemon wedges with your dish. The rice was too salty for us so next time we will order their salads. My wife pointed out the stylish and clean dining room and bathroom. Big windows open to the sidewalk allowed for fresh air too. They offer mushrooms for those choosing a plant-based diet. The chicken was moist inside and not that spam-like chicken some places sell. The garlic sauce was not too salty and had fresh herbs mixed in - much better than the garlic sauce at most restaurants. We highly recommend KALA and we will be back.

What a great new restaurant!! We had the yogurt dip with pita, a crispy mushroom salad, and chicken pita. All were delicious and great portion size. We then had the fried donuts with frozen greek yogurt. What a treat!! I'm allergic to cinnamon so we asked for the cinnamon sugar on the side and they were happy to accommodate. One of the owners was walking around the entire time, tending to tables and making everyone feel welcome. We really appreciated it!! Looking forward to coming back.

Great addition to the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Had a veggie salad with chicken skewer and every was super fresh and grilled to perfection.

My lunch date had the Greek salad and it’s been a long time I’ve seen tomatoes that red and fresh.

Do give this place a try.

You can feel the quality throughout! It feels so much nicer than fast casual: beautiful glasses and linen napkins with excellent food in an airy setting. The souvlaki bowls with rice are generously portioned and incredible, the fro-go has the best toppings, and WOW the frappes are the real thing. Don’t miss it!

We had such a great experience today! Staff was so inviting, friendly, and kind :) We got the pork rice bowl which was extremely delicious, with pita and mint yogurt dipping. The dessert was a must have, fried donut balls with home made frozen yogurt, honey and cinnamon sugar. Easy to order from QR code at the table and they bring you the food. The space is so clean and relaxed. Can’t wait to come back !!!
