The food was very good, though the pasta serving was so small as to barely cover the plate. You may expect smaller servings of high value foods such as salmon or steak, but not pasta surely?
Like the main course, the sweet we had, tiramisu, was the real thing - not mass produced elsewhere.
I did /not/, however, appreciate having a 20% service charge added without my agreement!
The service was pleasant and prompt, but nothing more. Done according to the script, but not because they meant it.
Simple ingredients, but elegant food. Traditional dishes, and very delicious. A very nice, intimate fine dining experience.
The duck was excellent but expensive for such a small portion and did not include sides. The magic cake was disappointing and not served as advertised (no raspberry sauce, and whatever the other stuff was wasn’t good). Service was decent.
The location is convenient to my house. The dining room is comfortable and our waiter was very good. The mushrooms and asparagus are really good. Meatballs were disappointing. Gnocchi sauce was too thin. Service was very responsive and overall a nice experience. Definitely going to try again. I would suggest adding pizza to the menu.
A welcoming place to sit down for dinner or sit at the bar with excellent and unique/mouth watering Italian food. Not to mention an impressive wine list. I have never been disappointed. A “best kept secret” of Chicago
