Monkey King Jianbing

Tucked away on the second floor of the new Canal Plaza building in one of the shops/stalls that remind me of the Pacific Mall developments in Toronto. Egg waffle + popcorn chicken = Perfect Mini Fried Chicken Sandwiches

Got the original one this time. Delicious!! Will definitely try other flavors next time. 👍🏻 Service is excellent as well. ⭐️🤩

Fresh, crispy, and yummy! It'll be a little hard to find because the new plaza is still being finished, but there's a parking garage (entrance on Archer). It smells sooo good when you walk in the store!

I visited China in 2012, and have been thinking of Jianbing ever since. We would get this egg pancake wrap every morning right on the street corner, and it was delicious.
While visiting Chicago, and staying in Chinatown, I thought I would try my luck. Could I find my favorite Chinese food? Yes!
Although different than the one I had in Beijing (this one being more lunch with cabbage and other fillings instead of a simple breakfast “sandwich,”), it hit the spot.
We had the ORIGINAL and the FRIED CHICKEN. Both were excellent. I think I like the original just a touch more, but the chicken one was filling.
Hoping this place takes off and everyone will enjoy a jianbing!

Heads up:
It is hard to find! It is on the second floor but there is parking so just find the ramp to the lot. I walked there and entered the building on the corner, up the stairs and down the hall. Credit or cash accepted.

The food is delicious and the service is great too. My friend ordered the Fried Chicken Jianbing and I got the Fried Shrimp Jianbing, both were delicious. It was so good and filling we went back to get another one to share with a friend. I recommend this place if you want to try something new, this something new and delicious. They are located in the second floor, there is also lots of parking in the second floor. 😁 Enjoy!!
