Very convenient location, and our food was great every time. There seems to be a bit of an issue with homeless people (it was December) but I was impressed with how the staff was firm, but kind in how they handled the situation. I went for a breakfast bagel, and got a little inspiration as well... go figure.

Great pleace. I don't know if it is because of the marathon but there was a huge que and still it is like that. So i came in and sat to a table and realized i can order online. That's what i did and my food was ready in 20 minutes on my table and it was delicious.
So, delicious food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, good location. Liked.

Panera is wonderful. But this place won't quit with the country music. I don't know who's in charge of this but it's killing me slowly. We're in downtown Chicago - play some real music.

It was a chilly day and we were cold and hungry. We spotted the Panera restaurant and bee lined there. It was crowded; but the place was extremely efficient. Ordered sandwiches and soup and went hunting for a table. Asked a gentleman if we could share his table, he was glad to do so. He was from Africa and told us he was pleasantly surprised that we wanted to share his table. He was under the impression that Americans were stand offish and didn't like to share tables. We had a nice conversation about why Americans have such an aversion to sharing. After he left a very pleasant woman asked if she and her friend could sit with us. They turned out to be Brits. They told us that knowing Yanks were not big on sharing tables that they were hesitant about asking us. But my wife and I gave off a friendly vibe, so we had another fine conversation with our table mates. Our sandwiches and soup were life savers. Delicious and warm was just what we needed. Finding a restaurant on Michigan Avenue on a Saturday, that actually has room for another customer is tough. The Panera gets my recommendation because the food was good and the place was most efficient in its service. We got to dispel the idea that Americans don't share tables. All in all a most satisfying experience
