Pick Me Up Cafe

Very excited to see this come to Uptown / Andersonville! It has a dive cafe type feel with an enhanced menu. We got the Cancun, New Yorker & Salmon Benedict. Truthfully they were ridiculously good! We are started with chocolate chip pancakes as an appetizer. Great recommendation from the server. Forgot her name but she was very nice. We sat inside which we were a little hesitant on but everyone had masks and spaced out. Also nice to see the staff spraying everything down from the tables to the ketchup bottles after every seating. They do have outdoor seating if you are willing to wait. We will be back.

PMU has been a seminal of Chicago veg dining for me since the 90’s. The new location is bigger, brighter and cleaner and the food seems even fresher. Sure I miss the nostalgia of the old location, but every single thing about the new location is better (especially parking!)

The food is amazing. Our group came out here for for Sunday brunch. The portion size is comfortable and love their vegan blueberry pie🍇. They have plenty of Vegan friendly items here. Will definitely return here.

Love the decor, the waitresses were really nice and attentive. Their potatoes(home fries) are delicious. couple of suggestions... warm milk/cream for the coffee(the cold milk made my coffee cold really fast) & soft butter for the pancakes(it was a little brick). Not even the hotcakes melt it fast enough. The syrup can be warmer also. Would like to try it again thou.

Varied menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner including a number of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Very reasonably priced. Colorful decor, friendly staff.
