The food was the best! It's my top 3 must eat vegan places of chicago! Beware though, this place is only big enough to seat 16 people! It's a very small eatery, but SO SO WORTH IT.

I had their Stuffed Reuben Knish and it is yummy. Everthing is made from scratch. The best time to visit is anytime between 8am and 11am since it gets busy around lunch time (after 11am). The only issue is the place accepts card but not cash..which is weird. Otherwise, food is excellent quality and is worth visiting.

Run, don’t walk, to Sam & Gertie’s!! This place is amazing. The food is excellent but the service is even better. What a friendly, caring staff! My friend ordered a coffee and it took a long time to come out. When it did, our server brought out a coffee for me as well as a thank you for our patience. Then, when we left we ordered a chocolate chip cookie which also took a while to come out (we were in no rush, so no worries!) They threw in an extra cookie on the house! The perfect neighborhood joint and a small business I will be back time and again to support. Go go go!!!

I'm so excited that this place is finally open, and it's better than I could've ever imagined. Food is absolutely phenomenal, the people even more so. It's got a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, with a mindblowingly delicious vegan twist on Jewish deli food. Fans of Kālish rejoice; it just might be the best vegan joint in Uptown.

Food is amazing. People are amazing. Absolutely love this place. 10/10 across the board. Yum!
