The only reason it has no Michelin Stars is that a reviewer has not yet been able to try Ed’s fantastic Face-Spaghetti.
Wont spoil the experience but it was truly one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Every dish is an adventure and the space itself is full of surprises. My only complaint is the limited availability but would definitely book again!
Happened upon this place and decided to give it a try. Best. Decision. Ever. Once you get past the initial disgust, the place really becomes one of the best dining experiences in Chicago, possibly the world.
From the innumerable species of flora and fauna populating the house to the dirt lining every nook and cranny, it almost feels as if you are still outside. Truly, the ambience alone makes this restaurant worth trying.
Still, being a restaurant, the quality of food is definitely something to be considered. Regarding this, I think a picture demonstrates best. (Attached a photo of its signature dish)
All in all, Shiver Shack is THE hidden gem of Chicago and I am definitely coming back many MANY more times.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Chef Edward has a firm grasp on traditional Getauhæni cuisine, both offering classics like "Oxen Dung" Porridge and newer modern-fusion dishes like Spaghetti BologNose. I highly recommend pairing the Raven's Foot Salad with the house wine; it made for a delightful appetite-whetter.
