Special O'Cajun Restaurant

I just tried this place for the first time. I got the vegetarian rice bowl, and it is great. The person who made it was very welcoming and explained the ingredients as they poured them over the rice! Their enthusiasm was contagious.

There is little room for sitting, but it's right across from Garfield park, so I am eating there now. I don't normally write reviews, but this was such a good experience, I wanted to tell people about it :)

Food was fresh and delicious. I am from Cali and our "soul food" is not that great. So when ever I am in Chicago I want to try out the soul food places. This one is going into the rotation for sure!

The owner surely knows the meaning of preparing any foods , from a fast cheeseburger , to all different types of soul food dinners. Succulent! The Mac&cheese, and OMG the candy yams, they looks like something out of a book (unbelievable) ,& so yummy. So talking about O' ca, jun, Special are the greens. So topping it off with the banana pudding. Yes yes yes 😋 this is definitely a restaurant that you can't go wrong. They have GrubHub and they do catering also.

We are visiting from Tampa and couldn’t find food anywhere near us by foot. Thank god Special O’Cajun was nearby and we decided to stop in.

We got an incredible deal on the sliders and the jerk chicken egg rolls are insane. We took food to go and so glad we did. The Mac and cheese is homemade and well seasoned, so are all their rice bowls.

I have ordered twice from this establishment and I have greatly enjoyed it. I am vegan and the options are great. Everything is so flavorful. My husband is not easy to impress with food, yet he continued to say how delicious it was. And my 10 year old finicky eater loves his meal and his dad's. We will definitely be back.
