“Friendly staff! The food was a bit slow to come out, but I’m sure it was just them still getting the hang of things with the shop just opening. I ordered the potato with half mozzarella and half hot dog. Honestly the mozzarella half was better and I want to try with cheddar as well. I definitely think this place is good to check out since there are a lot of combinations to try. Overall, I think this food looks better than it tastes (evidenced by the constant videos/pictures playing on the TVs in the dining area) but well worth a try!”

“Definitely my favorite breakfast spot in the city. Fresh ingredients, large portion sizes, reasonable prices, and fantastic service keep me coming back on an almost daily basis. My only gripe is that they aren't open on Tuesdays, but I'm convinced that if I bug them about it enough that will eventually change :) everyone should check this place out. I typically stick with boring dishes but they have some truly unique and, dare I say, gourmet breakfast and lunch options. Solo dining, for a date, or brunch with your friends, you can't go wrong with The Hen of Lincoln Park.”

“Good catfish is hard to come by. Sometimes it's overcooked to being chewy and too crunchy. They treat their catfish right. Tender, juicy, crispy, and their cornmeal batter is fantastic. Shrimp is great too. Oysters are just ok. If they did their oysters like they did their shrimp or catfish, that would take it over the top. Regardless it's my favorite catfish in the city now. No contest.”

Our server Rose was exceptional. Her knowledge of the food and wine were unmatched. She made great recommendations both on the food and a music venue to visit after. The plates aren't just dumped on the table at once. They come one at a time for you to savor each bite. While it is a little pricey, it is worth every penny. Highly recommend”

Also, best seafood boil I have had in a while. The portions impressed me for sure. Not sure if I’ve been skimped out in the past on portions at other places, or what. I’ve never been full on crab legs before until I visited here. Spicy is actually spicy so, don’t underestimate. Not too busy of a place and is casual, so dress code isn’t an issue.”

“Best waffles in the city hands DOWN. They have so many different types of waffles, including really innovative ones such as the green tea matcha waffle.
