New Star Restaurant

I got delivery. The food was really carefully wrapped and delivered with care. Items and their sauces were packed separately so they didn't get soggy. We ordered the meal for two- it could easily feed 4 if you don't care about everyone having the same dishes. The egg rolls were really good- spiced with something like Chinese five spice. The sweet and sour chicken was really good- the sauce has fruit and veg in it and since the sauce was packed separately from the fried chicken you could add as much sauce as suits. We've found our new go to carry out place.

Quick service and a solid deal for a lunch menu. Great variety of lunch specials. Good food as well. Would definitely come back, and no wonder the place has been around for so many years.

We had family visiting from another state that wanted to try a good Chinese restaurant in the area. We had 16 people altogether and New Star accommodated us very quickly! The food was so good and the portions were plenty for us to share. Best part, all really good food for a really good price. This is a family favorite for us here in Elmwood Park.

Wonderful food staff and service. We left a different restaurant to come to this one, and made the right choice. We have come for both their Thai, and their hibachi. Both of which are amazing. Really really great place.

New Star is an Elmwood Park Classic. The restaurant has been there since the 1960's. It has been pleasantly remodeled in recent years. The food is delicious Chinese American style menu, but the restaurant has added Sushi and Hibachi dishes and Thai noodle dishes. The new dishes I've tried have been great. There is a separate hibachi grill dining room in the back of the restaurant. It was fun watching the chef cook for us and makes for a festive dinner. The food is very tasty. New Star has great servers who strike a balance of service that is attentive without being adrupt or intrusive. I have on countless times left happy and satisfied with the food and service.
