Great, easy Vietnamese for Winnetka. Everything was delicious, we ordered both soups, 2 bahn mis, shrimp fried rice and 2 egg roll apps for $160~. Food was easy and delicious, we will be coming back.
Ordered at 6:45 and food was ready at 7:10, on time. Watch out they close early at 7:30pm!
This place has the opportunity to get better but will need some attention to detail. We ordered on a Saturday night for pickup, got a 45 minute pickup time, but still had to wait 15 more minutes.
The food was okay. The pork rolls were good, the pork chop/egg/rice combo was fine if a bit over-garlicky. The noodle salad had chicken that was not really cut or seasoned for the dish, and the noodles were overcooked. The fried noodle dish was fine. The fried rice was fine.
I love love love Vietnamese food since my first visit to Hanoi 25 years ago. Maybe this is a banh mi place and that should be the focus, I will try again and update my review when I do.
I had the pleasure of dining at Corner Banh Mi in downtown Winnetka shortly after its grand opening. For my first visit, I decided to try their signature dish: the Banh Mi Vietnamese baguette. The baguette was perfectly crisp on the outside, with a soft, airy interior that melded beautifully with the vibrant, fresh ingredients and the succulent, expertly seasoned Vietnamese ham and pate. For my second visit two days later, I decided to try their Grilled Chicken Rice Vermicelli Noodle. The chicken was tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of char to accentuate its marination. Paired with the soft, delicate vermicelli noodles and a variety of fresh herbs, pork skin, bean sprout, fresh onion, basil, mint, pickle, lettuce, cucumber and a light yet flavorful crush peanut and lemon fish sauce, this dish was a testament to the balance and freshness central to Vietnamese cuisine.
Finally another option for take out restaurants here in Winnetka. The portion is good, spring roll is fresh and my husband enjoyed his vermicelli noodle dish. Both of our protein were on the dry side but the flavors are still there. We would definitely visit again.
I came specifically for the pork Banh mi sandwich. Superb, sizeable, fresh. In other establishments, I've typically received less fillings. Not so here. I also ordered shrimp spring rolls, which I've not yet tried, but look fresh and have 4 shrimp each.
Clean, modern, efficient interior. Friendly, informed staff.
Excellent options for lunch.
