    The best and friendliest waitresses ever. They make you feel like you are at home. The place is very clean And the food is awesome

    Excellent breakfast fare at a great, diner price. The staff is exceptionally friendly and just the right amount of attentive - you're never left wanting, but you have a chance to eat and converse without frequent interruptions. I recommend Al's to anyone looking for a friendly, greasy-spoon diner experience!

    Al's used to be great. It was the definition of Americana.. hearty portions, fair prices, and great service. Over time the facade got cleaner, the prices went up, and the restaurant is now in a bit of an identity crisis. Do they try to compete with the boutique organic and trendy spots that are so common to Oak Park or do they need to get back to their roots by bringing the prices back in line with the relative food quality and somehow bring back the friendly greasy-spoon feel that I long for. Personally, I would go for trying to bring back the good old days. Until they can do that, I would rather pay for parking and drive a mile further west to get breakfast at Louie's.

    Service was great, friendly and food was good! I had Georgia pecan peach Belgian waffle. Amazing a full pecan in every bite. Prices were very economical too! We'll be back!
