Gus's is a fun, family oriented breakfast and lunch spot that brings back the feel of a 1950s diner. It's good food, served by friendly people. Gus is usually on site to welcome you and make sure that you come in as a customer and leave as part of the family. Most of the servers are actually related, which makes for good, entertaining conversation.
The breakfast is always good. So good, in fact, that I cannot comment on lunch. Whenever I go, I have breakfast. It's simply good comfort food, just like home. Without the mess.....

Great breakfast! Coffee tasted like coffee! Fast friendly service. Like the 50's look! Gus came by and introduced himself and I mentioned seeing their place on Chicago's Best!

It was ok. Have not been here for about 10 years. Food was pretty good and nice portion size. Service was lacking. No smiles, and not much attention to our table. A bit disappointing. We will check it out again in another 10 years maybe.
