Semi secluded in a ghost friendly town, with a little history of it's own.... This is an offer you can't refuse!

(January 25, 2019, 9:15 am)So close to Chicago, yet it feels like hundreds of miles away from the hustle and bustle of it all. Wonderfully quaint....fantastic food (Walleye Pike!)...and generous drinks (Kettle One Martinis w/Blue Cheese Olives). I was here on a snowy January evening with friends from my childhood.....we had a blast....the Christmas lights were still up (please keep them up!). The only thing I would change is that they play the same music in the dining area as they do in the bar...which diminished the warm, comfortable atmosphere. But overall Five Star service and food!

We had a group of ten family members for our non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner on black Friday. The food and service, as always, were second to none. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. The food was hot and just as ordered. I highly recommend the strip steak. It was cooked to perfection and so tender you can almost cut with a fork.
The rustic bar is a great place to sit at and enjoy an after-dinner drink. The bartender was very pleasant, and didn't even bat an eye when we asked her to take a group photo of us.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and beverage you receive. We will definitely be back. I need to try the frog legs; I heard they are amazing... -

(November 6, 2018, 11:56 pm)Recently stopped for lunch while were looking at homes in the area. All around 5 star from food to service. Mike one of the owners gave us a tour of the wine cellar down stairs incredible! I can't wait to go for dinner. (Get reservations if you do!)
