Honestly, this was the best cheeseburger I've had in Chicago thus far. And it's not even Chicago. I don't know why everyone is complaining about the prices, it's a zoo cafe, of course you should expect it will run on the pricey side, but it actually doesn't. Compared to a lot of hipstery "burger bars" in the city, the prices are pretty awesome, I think even McDonald's has worse prices nowadays.
The burger patties were huge, the bun was a lightly toasted brioche, and all the toppings were fresh. This was just a great, simple burger.
Seriously, if I'm convinced that the best place to get a burger in the city is to hop on an infrequent Metra train and walk 30 minutes through suburbs and zoo life and screaming toddlers to get it, then it's a pretty damn good burger.
Service is slow and employees are not very friendly. Drink machines are usually empty for ice or they are just out of a variety. Food is usually good.
Quick place to eat while at the zoo. Sadly there seemed to be no high chairs for kids and the pops seemed water down. There were also no lids for drinks and stations weren't completely cleaned.
After paying to get into the park the prices are a little high for what they're offering when trying to feed a family on a day trip to the zoo.
The hotdog and fries I ordered were good. Prices for what I ordered were decent.
