Food taste as original. Anyhow their effort reach optimum is great.
Service is below average. I waited my table order for almost 30 minutes.
Tea chai was not fresh.
Naan is extra ordinary best quality in taste. This is one of the few best restaurants in Chicago that have quality naan.
This restaurant has some of the best Naan I have tasted. I also absolutely love the Chicken Biryani. The chicken is still on the bone and buried under the rice. The lady that works the register is very nice. There are just too many men that eat there and NO women. :( Also since I don't speak Urdu they didn't seem to get my order right. I ordered garlic naan but got regular naan and the bread wasn't as fluffy as the kind I had on a previous day. The fried onions was delicious. Also I asked for the rice to be mild and it was still the usual hot flavor. But the prices are great and the quantity of food is mind blowing. I love the falafels here too but on my 2nd visit they didn't have any. :(
The fourth star is just for the food. That was the only saving grace. A friend took me there as I was craving Hyderabadi mutton biryani, so that’s exactly what I got. They follow a self service policy. No smiling staff to greet you and language may be a barrier for some. Also, they were severely falling short of staff that day. Despite all that and the food arriving around 30 minutes late, the biryani made me forgive them, almost instantly.
Tender pieces of mutton generously served with the well spiced rice, took me back on a trip to Charminar in Hyderabad. Comes with a side of raita and Mirchi ka salan (again as authentic as one can get in a Hyderabadi household). The flipside: the portions of the sides were tiny when compared to that of the biryani, which could comfortably feed two, and we had two go back asking for more. Food is on the spicier side, so more raita was definitely needed. Got some ‘Thums up’ to help the deliciousness go down.
Biryani was $7.99 and Thums up was around $3 each. Meal for two came up $16. something with taxes.
I have been coming to this place since it opened up. I never had any problems. Food is good. My favorite is spicy kabob rolls. Chicken Biryani is good as well.
Good value for your money. Food is ok, nothing to scream about. Unlikely to revisit this place.
