Fantastic and delicious food, I loved the character this place has, and the workers were helpful. I will surely eat here again.

A coworker recommended Grillhouse for dinner earlier this week so I read the reviews. I have to say I was hesitant based on some of the recent reviews that are less than complimentary. Regardless, we decided to try it because of the personal review we had received. So we had dinner tonight (a Wednesday). The large parking lot appeared to be mostly empty and the restaurant was only partially seated at 6:30pm. Even though it's a large restaurant I was a bit worried.

Two of us arrived early and headed to the bar for cocktails while waiting for our friend. Rena was the bartender and she was fun to have behind the bar. It did take a few minutes for her to take our orders since she had restaurant orders to fill. She makes a great Old Fashioned and knows her way around the bar. As we sat there more patrons started to fill the bar and more tables filled in the restaurant.

The manager (Maitre' D) was easy going and accommodating and he put the 3 of us in a large 5-top booth near the kitchen. Seth was our waiter and he was professional, confident and efficient. He let us talk and order at a leisurely pace. The wine list is varied and has many price points including the Luca Malbec we had - it was priced well and was a good value.

Two of us order the aged NY strip and I had the KC bone-in strip. All were ordered medium rare and were cooked perfectly. Our meals were out within 15 minutes of being ordered and we ate at a leisurely pace. The steaks had a nutty and slightly gamey flavor that I would expect for a 30-day aged steak. The asparagus, potato-mushroom hash, and french fry sides (yes fries...which I never do at a steakhouse!) were decent size and great accompaniments to the steaks. My apple tart dessert was decent but could have used a little more apple flavor - it was bland.

I've been to more steakhouses than I can count and this was a very good meal. All in all I was pleasantly surprised since the reviews I read led me to believe the meal would be a letdown. It isn't a cheap meal but also isn't as expensive as other steakhouses. I would come back here again without hesitation and would pick this over Wildfire any day of the week.

    (4.5 stars!)

I was there about 3 weeks ago and the food and service were excellent! We loved the bacon appetizer and the flat bread. I had the pork chop and my friend had a filet, we loved them. For dessert we had the coconut cake and apple tart. I was sad when we finished that because it was so good. We enjoyed sitting in the bar after dinner listening to the really good duo playing. We'll be back soon.

Grill house by David Burke – Schaumburg, IL – 3/20/2016

Long before I would get on the plane to come to Schomburg Illinois on business, through my mind would be racing the delicacies prepared by Chef Rhae Brown at the Grilhouse by David Burke…

At this point in my life having the good fortune to have dined in some of the finer restaurants throughout New England, I’m no longer satisfied just ordering off the menu… What I look for is a tasting menu specifically prepared by the chef… And tonight would be no exception… The chef prepared an absolutely incredible meal!

The first course brought out was a surf and turf… Pan Seared Scallops, slow roasted BBQ Porkbelly, compress Watermelon, Seaweed Salad Finished off with a Fennel Marmalade Liquor… The blending of flavours was like an orchestra in my mouth conducted by Bach himself…

My second course was a Crispy Skin Duck Breast, Honey Balsamic Glaze with Grilled Pineapple… Shaved Fennel… Orange-Grapefruit Salad… Garnished with edible Wild Orchid flowers… The duck cooked medium was perfectly prepared and the way it was plated was just a work of art…

For dessert…, Something they call Whiskey Chocolate State of Mind… With its Oreo Crumb, Cinnamon Whipped Cream, fresh Berries, Caramel Sauce and Raspberry Coulis, it is absolutely sure to delight your senses… Add in my signature Cappuccino and life is complete. Perfectly made both in body, head and flavor... Here they know the proper technique for making perfect Cappuccino!

This place is a must stop on the gastronomic trail… The people are friendly, the services quick and efficient and the cuisine that comes out of that kitchen is nothing short of magic… A trip to the Chicago area would not be complete without a visit to the Grill house by David Burke… You will be glad you did... Your palate will thank you!

Thank you for yet another incredible dining adventure… I'll be back…

Great for big groups. Angry calamari and maple bacon were delicious along with french onion soup. Kansas City bone in strip steak aged 30 days in Himalayan salt was great as well. Complimentary cotton candy was a great gesture of appreciation. Overall highly recommended.
