This place was ok when we asked about the mofongo the woman at the counter couldn't tell us what it was, we asked her other questions about the food the but she didnt seem knowledgable about the food. Other than that food was decent, we had the jibarito bestek plate. The rice could need work it was on the mushy side, plantines we felt was a bit to hard for us and underseasoned.
Really great, cute Puerto Rican cafe and pastry place. We had the chicken mofongo, quesabirria, beef empanadas and shrimp taco. Great ratio of plantain to chicken on the mofongo. Generally you have a bunch of plantain left over when done with the meat. Here you can see in the picture they keep a bunch on the side. The quesabirria was perfectly cooked. Not hard at all. Just a great crunch. Shrimp taco not pictured and large and filling. Beef empanadas were amazing.Only issue is the utensils. They give you plastic utensils and just tough to eat with the mofongo.
Had two desserts. The guave cheesecake cupcakes and lotus cheesecake. The lotus was sweet and heavy. The guave cupcake was disappointing. Just a piece of guava on top and was just a vanilla cupcake. Should have gone for the tres leches. Those looked really good. Have a ton of variety in the tres leches.
Overall I would recommend it. Thanks for having halal meat.
First time and everything was AMAZING!! We love trying new food, and Puerto Rican food was a must and this place was a great experience! The service was incredible and knowledgeable about the menu. The deserts selections was delightful. Over all it was amazing experience, so we are definitely bringing the family back.
We stopped in for lunch, first-time diners. It is a great little place located in a small stipmall. We ordered the jibarito sandwich and shrimp mofongo. It was delicious. The decor is really beautiful. Stop in and try the food. A hidden gem of P.R. food for the southwest side.
Food was really good! Happy to have Puerto Rican food near the house. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Good portions too! Definitely will recommend it. Can't wait to try the desert
