A nice option for this area which I'm new to for sure. I grew up eating at Greek restaurants like Greek Islands and Costas so a bit spoiled. The food was good but not great. Saganaki was nice...the side of potatoes were nice too....the salmon wrap was dry and a bit too stuffed with stuff that made it a bit much for me sometimes I guess less is more. I may have ordered the wrong salmon dish possibly too. My friend ordered the Greek pasta and he enjoyed it. Support local and try definitely worth a go like any restaurant. Prices are higher than Greek Islands for my example I'm used to and seems steep for Dekalb and a college town but just my thoughts. $28 for a shrimp pasta dish is a lot for this rural area.
The vibe is so relaxing at The Flame. Great thought went into this menu! The drinks (extensive wine list and cocktails), appetizers and main entrees were delicious (there is something for everyone) and the service was on point! Definitely a place to stop at for all the foodies out there looking for authentic Greek food.
Everything was great here! Loved the food, the atmosphere and the service. The gyro plate was great and the baklava cheesecake was amazing. We will definitely be back!
Picked up a gyro platter from here for dinner, and I was very impressed! It was the best I have ever had. The meat was cut thick. It was incredibly tender and very flavorful. The lemon potatoes and avgolemono soup were delicious as well. It was a bit pricey at $22, but it was well worth it. The portion was large and was more than enough to satisfy me. I will definitely be returning to try out some of their other dishes in the near future.
I ordered the lamb, one of the pricier items on the menu, and was very pleased with the dish! They cooked the meat perfectly, it was very tender and moist, and it was charred beautifully. Our table also had a number of the appetizers, all great, and I was told the gyros were superb. I loved our server, they had a great mix of professionalism and casual charm. Would reccomend for a nice date night, expect to spend $30-40 per person with drinks on the moderate end.
