Excellent food! Very surprised to find such a gem at a service center. The breakfast potatoes are so unique and tasty, kinda like a french fry meets fried mashed potatoes. I dunno how to describe. Just delicious. Had the veg head on brioche. Also, very good and different than every other breakfast places take on breakfast sandwiches. Will definitely be back.
I am sharing this review on behalf of my mom who experienced the best service, tastiest hamburgers and freshly baked Lemon Blueberry Scones. She and her friends play cards every Saturday, most times after playing they go out for dinner; they have tried the location in Itasca for breakfast before cards, but they wanted to check them out afterwards for a burger. They called ahead to see what time they were closing; the person who answered said they were getting ready to close but offered to stay open to make some burgers for them, they placed their order ahead of time so not to keep the staff stay open any longer, when they arrived the burgers were coming off the grill. She commented how the burger was just the right size (she is not a fan of thick burgers), her friend asks if they had any Lemon Blueberry Scones available; they did not but had some scones prepared for baking in the morning and decided to bake off some for them as well. My mom purchased three! I believe the one who serviced them was one of the partners, she invited them to come play large enough to seat the teams and decks of cards nicely. Service like this goes way above and beyond the norm these days, she said she was going to tell her friends about this experience and are plan on meeting there for breakfast before playing cards next week. In this day and time, it is nice to see others care for our seniors with care and respect. It will go a long way... So, if you have never tried Joe Donut in Itasca for their cake donuts, or breakfast or even the hamburgers for lunch - this reviewer would recommend you do so... you will not be disappointed; especially when it comes to their service. Thank you, Joe Donut Itasca, for staying open for some hungry seniors and accommodating them and making them feel welcomed, she was so excited to tell us about her experience; I wanted to share it with you!
Wife asked if I wanted breakfast and little did I know this gem was at a gas station. The homemade biscuit was delicious! Homemade tater tots were nice and crispy. Though in a gas station, the sitting area doesn’t feel like it. Would get food from here again.
Let's start by saying don't let the fact that Joe Donut is in a gas station, looks are deceiving. I ordered a half dozen donuts all seemed very fresh and delicious. I also ordered the Southern Lovin biscuit with potatoes. I was blown away the biscuit, the bacon, the fried chicken were delicious and fresh. Let me tell you these potatoes were next level. They seem to a a fried hash that were perfectly seasoned, nice and crispy on the outside but so fluffy on the inside. Do yourself a favor and try Joe Donut out!
Some of the best breakfast I’ve ever had including soft buttery biscuits that rival the ones I’ve had in Atlanta, a spicy breakfast burrito, and fresh squeezed orange juice!
On top of that, the service was excellent. The chef was on top of it running around and cooking everything fresh. Woman at register lovely and so helpful. Coffee is good. Well run place with people who seem like they care. We left our Christmas Eve family breakfast early to sneak away here to eat a second time 😂
Also, if you’re worried about eating in a gas station, it is very clean and bright with windows. There is ample seating.
COME HERE! ITS AWESOME!
