There used to be a place like this on the southside of Chicago when I was young. Now that I have a son of my own, it's great that I have a place to go and share same experiences. Now this particular Diner compared to the one I used to go to has more extensive menu, with much much better food. The atmosphere is much better as well, as it's much more decorated in the diner I grew up in. The staff is extremely friendly, food comes fast, my son loves the joint. Which is all that really matters. We had his birthday there once it was very reasonable. Food is always great as well.
Brought my toddler in for his Birthday lunch. It’s a diner so don’t expect anything fancy. He had the chicken tenders and fries and he got his birthday cupcake delivered in the little mechanical train. With a birthday soundtrack playing all over the diner and what is great is the other families with kids join in and sing happy birthday which made my heart melt. They also deliver the food on the train which the kids love. It’s fun watching. At the entrance they also have a little train set up where they can go and push buttons to interact with. Definitely a good experience to have with the kids.
The food was delicious! Great atmosphere for kids or just kids at heart. Will definitely be back.
Recently I took visitors (including a six year old girl) from Australia to the All Aboard Diner for lunch. The menu offered many choices for both adults and children and was hot and delicious when served. Make sure to sit at the counter for your food to be delivered by the train. The mall where the diner is located has many empty storefronts and is currently being renovated -- making the initial impression not very appealing. Step inside, however, and it is a train lover's paradise, perfect for both the old and young at heart. They even offer beer and wine.
The owner (I assume) was lovely. When she discovered my visitors were from so far away and how we met, she gave our little guest an engineer's cap which she will treasure for a long time. Her kindness and the delicious food made for a great experience.
We loved this place!! There is some major construction going on, if you’re not paying attention you can pass this gem right up. It’s extremely kid friendly, staff members were friendly and were helpful. The food comes out on the train tracks, which is a pretty cool feature. And the food was great. Nice and hot, and fresh. Totally exceeded my expectations and I (nor my son) was disappointed. Recommend taking the children. We will visit again.
