I went in on a Friday night - should have known right away something was wrong right off the bat - I was greeted at the door by a heavy set tattooed woman squeezed into an all-black where the buttons were holding on with all they had in them. Her greeting was "we're busy. why didn't you make a reservation?" She sighed very loudly and said, "Well, you're gonna have to wait" and walked off.
I would have left right there, but my elderly father really wanted to try it. We went to sit at the bar to wait. The bar was cute, but there was a dog there. At first, I thought it was a service dog, but it was not. To my horror, it was a small little breed that snarled at my dad and nearly snapped at my ankle. What kind of place was this? I ordered my dad an old fashioned with Blantons, at the suggestion of Paige, the barmaid. After 10 minutes of waiting, another gentleman, I think his name was either Aaron or Eric, asked if we had been helped. I went to point at the lady to say she took her order, but she was gone. When I ordered the drink again, he told me they didn't carry that but would be happy to make an old fashioned. At that point, friendly as he was, I was just irritated. I said whatever. The drink was ok. The bartender was nice, but that about ends the upsides.
Dinner we ordered PEI mussels and Steak Tartar. (mind you, we were sat after a 45-minute wait by the same hostess who clearly lacked social skills who admittedly 'Oh, I forgot about you two" The appetizers were simply awful. The mussels were fishy tasting AND heavily smelling old. The steak TarTar was GREY and also a little smelly. The bartender Paige was unfortunately also our server. When I asked informed her about the inedible apps, she smiled graciously and took them away, but loudly mentioned to co-workers (when she thought she was out of sight) that "this bitch is too good for her food. Says it's gross. I'm not in the mood for this."
Are you serious??? My father, 89 years old, was so hungry at this point we just ordered. I had a rack of lamb that I was assured was Colorado raised and dad had a bone-in Ribeye. we ordered both rare. As for sides, we chose creamed corn and asparagus.
When the food arrives, 30 minutes later, dear Paige simply dropped the food and left. Needless to say, we hadn't been offered drinks since the bar. The Lamb chops were very clearly New Zeland and served well done. My dad's bone-in ribeye was a hangar steak, also well done and unchewable. The sides, well, the nicest thing I an say is they weren't ice cold.
My dad couldn't chew his food and I was simply not hungry at this point. Mind you, we had eaten absolutely NONE of the food. Paige couldn't be bothered to check for another 15 minutes. When she stopped, I told her about the issues and she said "Uh, nice try. You want us to comp your check now too, don't you?" I'll get the manager.
The 'manager' named Micheal wandered to our table, clearly intoxicated, shrugged and said, "I don't know what you expect me to do?" At this point, the only thing keeping me from flat out snapping was my desire to not embarrass my father. Then, we were offered dessert we clearly didn't want and presented with a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL. FOR WHAT????? I refused to pay and was threatened the cops would be called on me. Good luck, my dear, I'm an attorney. I walked out.
DO NOT GO INTO THIS NASTY SLAUGHTERHOUSE. I only hope that Glen Ellyn puts them out of business before people get sick.

Mom and I wandered in here for dessert. We sat at the bar, a cozy area with a view of the train tracks. There were two friendly couples and we chatted and laughed. The chocolate mousse arrived with a large scoop of whipped cream festooned with bright, little blueberries. The decaf had a nice body to it. And to top it all off, Chef Martin gifted us with his homemade limoncello. It was amazing and packed a punch! Will definitely be back!

Very fresh new place that is hopefully here to stay! Went here for Valentine's day and had a great dinner service. We ordered the calamari to start which was very crispy and fresh. For my entree, I ordered the hanger steak and my wife ordered the filet. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. Our waiter, Joey, was very professional and pleasant. We will be back ASAP.

Absolutely fantastic! The service was great our server was so personable. I got the lemon chicken and it was the perfect flavor and texture combination. The rest of our party got the sea bass and the seafood risotto. There was not one dish that didn’t impress. So often businesses don’t do well in Glen Ellyn and I really hope this one stays around. We will definitely be returning!!

Went here on a whim for New Years Eve dinner. What a great way to start 2019. Food was exceptional. I would put this bistro up against many of the best around. Can't wait to go back. Menu has something for everyone. We had filet and hanger steak.

Food was excellent! My mother in law and I had the hanger steak, my wife the stuffed pork chop and my father in law the herb chicken. All of us agreed the food was wonderful. Service was great, they work as a team and make sure every need is met. I will be back.
