Good food and beer, loved the fried rice and the pickle fries, Devil Wears Jammies was awesome. But... it was like a damn Chuck E. Cheese in there. Kids outnumbered the adults and they had huge playpen in the back for kids. Not a great atmosphere to relax with a beer in.
If you enjoy delicious food and quality beer, this is your place. The menu has something for everyone and they feature a variety of craft beer made on site. Very inviting atmosphere suitable for families with kids, and it's large enough for good speration between the bar area and more family friendly dining area. Staff knows what they are serving so they are helpful in pairing food and beer.
Holy cow, this place qualifies as a deeply hidden gem. Off the main downtown area of Elmhurst, Elmhurst Brewing Company offers incredible beer selection, tasty food, and an incredibly family friendly atmosphere. 5 stars because 6 isn't an option.
Food for kids and adults was solid. Service friendly and attentive. Beer was a bit more hit and miss. Out of 6 that I sampled 3 were hits and 3 missed the mark.
I will say, though, it's a good family space. There's a corner with a play table and some toys for small children to hang out and occupy themselves. While most breweries generally call themselves family friendly, Elmhurst makes it abundantly clear. Don't be afraid to bring the kids out.
We have young kids, so this place is great for us. There is a small children's area to keep them occupied until 7pm (brilliant) and libations for the grown ups. The beer is all house made, which is the main reason for the 4 stars. It would be nice to have a few other choices for those who might like something else. The food is good, I like the meat and cheese tray and cheese curds. On a busy day close parking can be a bit tough in this area. But if you like beer (and especially have young kids) definitely check it out!
