It’s a great ice cream shop

Good selection of ice creams. I like the Tennessee toffee, blueberry muffin . Usually Junior size is sufficient for two people , at least in my house

Brain Freeze devotes half it's menu to non-dairy items, which is amazing when most places have one or two non-dairy options (if any). Great flavors too. Unfortunately, the place is a little understaffed at peak hours, so making your selection without frustrating the people waiting in line behind can be hard. Also, they run out of the best flavors too quickly. It's great for date night when the choices are slim, but we'll probably never be regular customers.

They had three types of vegan ice cream, and I was almost tempted to try the "Chicago pothole" ice cream (not vegan) because of the fun name (and chocolaty-ness...

The decor is best described as "kawaii monster" and the shop is inviting. It is true that the walls could use a (gentle) scrub down, as many places do, but it certainly didn't come across as dirty.

It was a pleasant surprise after visiting local museums.

Brain Freeze is easily my favorite ice cream shop in Elmhurst. The allergen-free options are great for those who don't get to treat themselves out to ice cream very often. The environment is playful and the staff is friendly. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
