A fantastic lunch. Classic Burger--always a great choice. The taste was strong and beefy. The fries were crisp. The tea near perfect. I sometimes get made fun of for leaving scathing reviews. To date: Keeper's is doing it's best to show how great it is, and how much greater it can become! Sadly, I have no photos from this lunch visit.
The best burgers in Carbondale can be found here (the best hand cut fries too) everything is detail oriented and carefully crafted from the decor, to the drinks and of course, the outstanding menu. They keep things interesting by changing the menu seasonally, but keeping a couple classics on hand. There are different specials every night and always a vegetarian option. This place cannot be missed.
Newly remodeled and gives a modern hipster vibe inside and out. Open concept where you can watch the cooks is pretty neat. The food is FRESH. They shop for local ingredients and it tastes so good. Their flatbread special is different daily as well as the veggie and dessert.
The cocktail menu is on the sweet side, but tons if wines to choose from.
I'm not sure why this place has been criticized for their lengthy wait for fresh food. It wasn't any longer than any other place I've been to, and the quality speaks for itself.
As far as the taste of the food, my friend loved her burger, and said the taste was wonderful. Myself, I ordered a burger and removed all the dressings. So, mine may have been slightly bland, but what do you expect with a burger with cheese. I will say I ordered medium rare and got something a little more cooked than I prefer, however, this didn't do anything to the flavor in my opinion.
The staff was wonderful, never seemed inconveniences, may have been much seeing long, bony looking earrings, but, service with a smile is service with a smile.
No reservations needed, will be coming back for sure!
Got there with Chris early. My tequila drink was called Where the F#@& Did I Park my Truck. I liked Chris's drink too. She liked the fruit in it. Top notch kitchen staff, bartender, waitress and hostess. Excellent meals and kudos for the cold avocado soup on a hot day.
