El Patio Mexican Restaurant Tequila & Mezcal

Great place in Elgins center city. On main street of Grove Ave, only bad is off street parking but plenty if you can walk from steer or parking garage.
The location is a long narrow place with floreciente wall murals and decor. Very modern and dark look but good food and great drinks.
Variety of dishes and even draft beer options too, not just tequila and regular drinks but mescal too.
A must visit and try location.

Wow the atmosphere is amazing in here, it is loud, fyi but FUN.
They do extravagant celebrations for bdays and even for this shark shot, it was too cool.
Also when they bring out a certain dish. All the food looks so good. And the drinks are yummy.
I ordered the taco salad, it was amazing & really good. The steak was cooked to perfection.
The green chicken enchiladas have a mole like sauce, very very tasty.
They give you 3 salsas with chips, all were really delicious.
Drinks were yummy. The artwork is amazing in this place too.
Amazing service, can’t wait to come back.

We’d only been on the outside patio until now but last night we finally sat in the recently opened dining room. It’s a small restaurant and was plenty busy on a Monday night. Table service was impeccable. We had a few different tacos, all excellent. The cocktails were long poured, not pre-made. We’ll definitely be back; great experience.

This is some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. Everything that everyone at our table ordered was delicious. I didn't get a chance to take many pictures or even well lit ones. However, I still wanted to give a review because they definitely deserve 4-5 stars. I wish there was an option 4.5 stars because they definitely deserve 5 stars for food and atmosphere. However, on this Saturday night the service was below average. It did not ruin the experience and we will still go back and hope it has improved by then.

Food was great, but it's very hard to hear when they have a band, as the place is small.
The location which has been a number of restaurants over the years has been refreshed with colorful murals along the walls. A bar runs along the back and over the summer they had drinks on the outdoor patio, before officially opening.
Chips were gratis but that may been an opening week perk.
I look forward to eating here again!
