This is the landmark diner on Kankakee's West Side. I wish I had noticed the corned beef hash benedict. Enjoy mixing up classics. Coffee isn't bad though I'd enjoy creamer that needs refrigeration vs a room temp micro shot. Great service also is a nice change of pace from other chains.
Anyone who's ever been in a full car trying to find a place to eat knows how challenging it can be to find somewhere cheap, fast, super tasty, and that everyone is excited for. Local diners have always been able to fill that void and estabshments like Blues Cafe are why. The coffee is strong, portions are sized to be filling but not to overstuff, the skillets sizzling, the biscuits and gravy are rich in the right way, but the stars of the show are - for sure - the pies. Personal favorite is the butterscotch banana.
Great old in the cut restaurant that has been around for years. Food was pretty good! I would return!
Great food and affordable prices at this cozy family diner. Local favorite for decades, and I can definitely see why. The service is warm & welcome and the pie is to die for!
Staff is friendly. Regulars all are greeted as such and newcomers made to feel at home. Denise was our waitress. Very pleasant. Place is clean. Not loud. Food comes out quickly! Food is tasty. Found our breakfast restaurant
