Grandview Restaurant

Stopped in for breakfast, not bad, typical diner fare. Coffee is decent, not great, food is fresh and hot but not remarkable. I was disappointed that they didn't have real butter available, only margarine, but again, fairly typical for an Illinois diner. Service was very good, prompt and attentive, and prices were reasonable.
Overall, a good diner, just go in with the expectation that this is diner food not gourmet fare.

We had no wait when we arrived and the service was great but we were disappointed in the food. We had breaded mushrooms that were overcooked. My wife and I both had tenderloins. I had the jumbo. Neither of us were impressed. Mine covered my whole plate but it was so thin I got more breading in each bite than meat. The best part of my meal was the curly fries. If it wasn't for the service I would have given it one star. I would consider eating here again but would definitely try something else from the menu.

I've reviewed a lot of restaurant in town, and I do believe this is the best one. I've driven a cab for 7 years and everyone I have ever asked about this place says it is good. I haven't heard one bad thing about the Grandview in 7 years, that's saying something.

As always REALLY GOOD FOOD & friendly staff -I ordered cheeseburger fries (with a little ranch to dip in) & love their baked beans-hubby had breakfast special-GREAT too! I haven't found anything on their menu I haven't LOVED!! BEEN COMING HERE FOR YEARS

BEST breakfast in town. Skillets are the bomb! The entire staff bust their butts to get the food out quickly and perfectly cooked. The owner has kept up the pace her family set. When you see a lot full of cars, you know it's the best.
