Had a surprise Birthday party for my wife’s 60th. The food and accommodations were great, but the service was above and beyond exceptional. Would I
recommend Lake House..... In a heartbeat.
One of the area's better restaurants. Full lunch & dinner menu; something for every appetite. Stephanie is a five-star server.
First time here and had a wonderful time food was great, service was great. Our server was Meghan very attentive she made our special occasion even more special. The corn beef and cabbage was excellent.
Lake House is in a good location. The atmosphere is nice, and it seems to draw people of all ages. I have been here before with friends and had some good experiences, but my husband and I went to celebrate our wedding anniversary on Saturday night, and it really missed the mark.
When my husband and I arrived, we were seated immediately. Our server, however, was nowhere to be seen for several minutes. When we ordered our drinks, we were told that the first beer that was listed on draft on the menu was only available in the bottle. We accepted the substitution.
A large part of the reason we went to this restaurant was because of the items that were on the online menu. The waitress told us that the online menu is extremely outdated, and the one thing I most wanted is no longer available. As a vegan it can sometimes be difficult to order without seriously altering what's listed on the menu.
I ordered a chicken sandwich minus the chicken, bacon and cheese, because it had lettuce, tomato and avocado on it. It came without the avocado (which was now intended to be the star of the dish), and I was finished with half the sandwich by the time the waitress brought out the avocado. My husband said that his ribeye steak was fairly gristly.
We may try this place again because I've had good experiences here in the past, but it may be awhile before we're willing to take another risk.
The venue is very comfortable and pleasant with antique posters, Tiffany type lamp shades and pictures all about the dining room.
The menu is quite varied in choice of food types enough to please all palettes. Our food came out hot and was most enjoyable.
I would say the Lake House restaurants are consistently good.
We’ve had a wedding shower at the Lake Bluff restaurant, during the Sunday brunch time and everyone really enjoyed the food and service.
Do go and have lunch or dinner here and enjoy.
