City Barbeque

Just finished a Big Bone (Beef Rib) for lunch on a Saturday morning. It was excellent and worth the planned trip. My wife ordered the marbled beef brisket and was also very happy. As a bonus, the staff was friendly as well.

We have traveled all over Texas as part of Yeti's BBQ Passport challenge and we are pretty familiar with good and bad BBQ. City BBQ is the best place we have had in Illinois. There are plenty of sauces available to enhance the flavor but their BBQ can stand on its own without sauce.

There may be one or two BBQ places I'd take over City....but definitely nothing within 1200 miles.

Well prepared BBQ with a great taste. The brisket is particularly good. Lots of sauces to try. There's limited seating, so we do more carry out. It's gets really crowded and busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Wonderful staff, let us try a couple things since it was our first time here. Tasters were absolutely delicious. We were just going to get a couple sandwiches for the two of us, but ended up getting the Judges Sampler. Definitely a great choice for a first time diner here. You get more than your money’s worth, and we’re so satisfied with the food quality and taste that we went back and got the peach cobbler and triple chocolate cake on the way out. We NEVER buy dessert at a restaurant. Will definitely be bringing my mom, uncle and his wife and kids here. They have a ton of gluten free options too. Even the Texas Toast is gluten free!

Updated 2-16-19: I updated my review from 4 star to 5 star because not only is the info below still accurate I was happy with the table crew member who was working the dining floor checking on everyone and making sure they were happy and enjoying their food! Great customer service!

A very good option for BBQ! They always have really good smoked food and awesome sides! They have daily specials too which helps for the lunch rush. Quick service...Good Prices... Friendly People...All Around Great Restaurant!

Our first visit as a family, and the experience was excellent. The family dinner menu was a great value. The sides are high quality, with a large selection of sauces for the meats. And Crystal and Kaylina provided great customer service. I’m from the south, and the whole experience had a great down-home vibe. We’ll be back soon.
