The food is well prepared, flavorful, and properly seasoned. This place is specifically recommended to those who enjoy American food, but dislike the overly salty and greasy aftertastes that often follow. Well done.

We came here on a date night with no reservations. It was definitely busy but they got us in right away. We started with some drinks and apps. The duck wings and fried calamari were very good. For dinner, my wife got the saffron shrimp dish, my brother in law the gnocchi, and my sister and I the lamb. All of the dishes were great, but the lamb was amazing. The sauce and potatoes with it were cooked perfectly and the lamb melted in my mouth. It is the best lamb I have ever had. We will definitely be back.

We love this place. Great service and food. Good for drinks and appetizers, lunch or dinner. The pork shank is pretty awesome. They also support the Lake Bluff Brewery next door with a partial menu. The sausages were great, as was the grilled cheese. The shishito peppers were a great choice with a beer.

Great atmosphere! Great food. The ladies which I hope are the owners were fantastic. Even the waiter was exellant. I had calamari, fish and fries. The fish and fries were very good. I would say the fish was the best I've had. Definitely recommend Maevery Public House.

A 4+ star experience bumped for outstanding service from Laura. Went for brunch and food was excellent. We had deviled eggs, chicken and waffles and a simple yet tasty breakfast sandwich with thick cut bacon. A smaller menu but great options and well prepared. Bloody was a little briny for me but I was told that up front and yummy garnishes. Best and hottest cup of coffee I've had outside of a coffee place. Only slight negative for me was atmosphere and table set up/chairs/booths is an odd combo of breakfast cafe/diner and pub. Bar area quite small for a pub and those retro metal stools with no back are just not comfy and welcoming. Would return to try dinner.
