The Wooden Nickel Pub and Grill

Always love coming here... great atmosphere and the food is better than you’d expect from a pub. The daily specials are always interesting and inventive. A ton of local ingredients, I would expect to pay way more for the caliber of food they put out.

Cool place. I feel like I didn't do this place right though. I got the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was not very good. My wife's burger was though. I hear the Nickel Nachos are good, but we didn't get them. The fried pickles were pretty good though. They do a big crawfish cook-off every year, which is pretty cool too. Worth checking out.

Sat at the bar for dinner and was promptly greeted by one of the bartenders. They have a very limited menu so I stuck with a burger with a side of fries, everything was a la carte. Received my burger pretty quick even though the place was packed inside and out. Prices are decent so I would probably go back the next time I'm in town.

First time there. It was for taco Tuesday. Servers are very friendly and attentive. Food was great. I preferred the hard shell over the soft, but both were good. Seating can be difficult when it's busy. We were lucky enough to spot a table of people getting up, otherwise we may have been standing around for awhile. I noticed several people just relaxing at their table long after they were done eating which doesn't help, but that's their prerogative.
Overall great place and I plan to return.

The food is awesome. The people are awesome. I noticed other people knew and liked maddy, and she knew there drink as soon as they walked in and walked up to the bar. Very friendly staff and delicious food. And not crazy expensive either!
