Yellow Dog Cafe & Bar

Took a while to get our fish but it was worth the wait, huge amount of food for the price and delicious!

My wife and I have been eating at the Yellow Dog for the last several years. We live in Worden so it's certainly the closest restaurant to us, but we've also really enjoyed it. IT IS CASH-ONLY! They have an ATM but remember your cash. Seating inside is limited, but it has surprisingly good bar food. My wife loves their shrimp Po boy, and I most recently was impressed with their pork tenderloin sandwich. Anyone who knows the Yellow Dog though will tell you that their wing night special on Monday nights during the summer are a must. The wing night special is year round, but they have live music and outdoor seating during the late spring through the early fall. The wings have about 8 or 9 different flavors and they're all good. Service is usually very friendly and quick to respond. Definitely recommended for those who like a hole in the wall feel.

The food is amazing, for a hole-in-the-wall bar. The drinks are reasonably priced. I recommend stick to beer, I don't know how long the liquor or mixers sit before they change them out. The only reason I'm docking stars is for the service. We come in on Saturday nights and there is 1 person working the bar and serving the restaurant. While she's talking to us and taking our order, you can tell she has 100 other things running through her head. It isn't her fault, she's understaffed.

Love, love, love the Yellow Dog. It is cash or local check only with an ATM on site. Come on Mondays for live music, $0.50 wings and $1.50 beer. Tuesday's are my favorite with the Mexican menu and homemade crunchy tacos shells. Homemade fried chicken on Sunday & Thursdays. Sunday also has a pizza special. The owner is quite the baker and there is usually some tasty homemade dessert too! The place is a little on the small size and fills up quick, so it's best to avoid traditional meal times or plan to sit outside on the patio.
