Chen Chinese Cuisine

Quality and flavor of food were good. The service and atmosphere were subpar. This place could do some damage with a more modern feel inside and a better waitress.

The Bo Bo appetizer was fun! It didn't really need the grill in the middle but was kind of cool to have. So much food! Everything we had was excellent. Salt and pepper calamari and shrimp and scallops in garlic sauce.

All tasted fresh, service was fast, and very intuitive. We will be back!

We ALWAYS order from Chen's when we want Chinese takeout. By far and away the very best local Chinese food option in Lake in the Hills. Having tried nearly everything in the menu, I'll say you simply can't go wrong. My personal favorite is the Pad Thai. Usually order it with extra everything and they're happy to deliver. Love this place!

Chen's has very good food for a main stream type business. The portions are good as are most Chinese establishments. They lose one star for how cheap they are with the packaged sauces. For my family of 5 they usually include 4 to 5 sweet and sour sauce packets. Today I requested a few extra and was charged 25 cents extra. Most other places give you more than you can ever use, but Chen's seems to be on the cheap side. I shouldn't have to pay extra for a few extra when, in my opinion, you should be providing them. Especially considering I'm spending 30 plus dollars at least every time I order.

I really like Chen's. The food is really good. The service is really good. I like the shrimp and scallop dish. We all love the pea pods - very tender and delicious. This is a gem of a restaurant that not many people take advantage of.
