Antioch Pizza Shop - McHenry, IL

I ordered a pizza online and for some reason, it switched from delivery to pickup. After I realized the mistake and called them, even though it was about 5 minutes to closing time, they still took the time to drop it off to us! Great service and great pizza!

First time trying this place & I have mixed feelings. When we ordered it said pizza would be ready at 7:30. Our food wasn't actually ready until 7:45.

We get home, excited to try a pan pizza. Apparently at Antioch Pizza, pan pizza is actually deep dish pizza. We aren't fans of deep dish so we were really disappointed. We ordered regular fries also but they were tasteless and soggy. :(

The pizza ended up being pretty good. My only complaint (besides the fact that it was a deep dish) is that the sauce was only in the middle so the outer edges were bland. Overall, everything could have been better. I'm surprised there are so many 5-star reviews.

We typically frequent the Antioch Pizza in Fox Lake since we live in Spring Grove but were in the area and dropped in for their basic 2 slice & drink lunch special. I’m not sure how, because I would think the recipe would be the same. But, not nearly as good. The dough lacked flavor and all the toppings slid right off. Guess we will stick with the Fox Lake location.
