I haven't been in a Panda Express since I was a teenager in L.A. and since the one on Market St recently opened I dropped in. I got there right at 10:30am which is when they opened and the food was just being brought up hot and ready to serve.
As you walk in the entire group behind the counter greets you with a great big "HELLO". The employees and the cashier are very friendly with smiles on their faces.
I had the Honey Walnut Shrimp & Beijing Beef along with Fried Rice & Lo Mein and an Egg Roll.
The two entrees were flavorful but I didn't like the fried rice or the lo mein.
I did leave the restaurant pretty stuffed since the portions were kind of big.
Overall I would give Panda Express 3 1/2 stars and for my money I would rather spend it at my local favorites such as
Chi Family Express or Szechuan Chinese Restaurant.
Being a realist, I understand that new restaurants will have a few bumps in the road to success. I've been to this location three times now, and I experienced my first one today. There was a mix-up in my order, and the manager, I believe her name is Valerie, went above and beyond her responsibilities and made sure that my experience was great regardless. I wish more leaders would take pride in their jobs the way she does. Stop in and pay her a visit. I'm sure she'll be happy to see you.
I was rather impressed that my food was actually fresh, hot and bursting with flavor.
My only disappointment was they were out of any kind of rice.
They were quite busy and still took the time to say welcome to every guest walking in.
Food was good, but this location's portion control needs work. Ordered two bowls, and one of them had significantly more chow mein than the other, almost twice as much. I feel that I received less than at other locations for the same price.
