Delicious!!! Breakfast is served all day. Owners are down to earth, friendly & passionate! Looooove this place!
Awesome food! The atmosphere is so comfortable and relaxing. I will go there again so.
Moja is the best new restaurant Peoria has gotten in years. From it's true to it's roots southern cooking, to the awesome staff, Moja is doing it right. I've eaten there three times so far, and have enjoyed every bite. First meal I had was the Nashville Hot Chicken and a waffle. If you're like me you prefer the juicier, more flavorful dark meat, so I opted for a leg, wing, and a thigh. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the skin was nice and crispy, and the Nashville Hot Sauce was on point. The waffle was crispy yet tender. The next meal was chicken and waffles, let me tell ya, this is something you need to try. Most recently I enjoyed a perfectly fried pork chop and waffle. Delicious. My wife absolutely adores the fried catfish, and it is excellent. The fried okra and the cooked cabbage will have you coming back for more. Don't let me neighborhood fool you, Moja is a place worth visiting and I am confident that you are safe outside as well as inside.
Moja is the place to get authentic Southern Cooking in Peoria. There is nothing on their menu that I haven't liked.
My husband had their ribs recently and they didn't even need the BBQ sauce...they were tender and flavorful. And the BBQ sauce, even though not needed, was amazing. It was bold and smoky with just a bit of a kick at the end.
I had waffles on this particular visit. They were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside and had a hint of vanilla. Delicious. Very minimal syrup needed because they were sweet on their own.
We wanted to try something different, and found Moja on-line. I asked about ingredients and they checked on-line -- they took the time! And when I couldn't eat the ingredients in the catfish batter, they cooked me catfish coated only with cornmeal, no wheat. It was wonderful! Excellent, mild flavor and very tasty. I also had a vegetable omelette -- very good! My love had the potato bowl and loved it.
Service was consistently warm, friendly, and in all ways exceptional. The decor is really nice -- warm browns and varnished wood, with cotton boll wreaths and branches in vases. We'll be back!
