Popular classic Italian fare. A hidden jewel in Rock Island.
Stopped here for lunch while walking my dog and they accommodated us outside at one of two outdoor tables. I simply called and told them I was on my way and they said they'd look for me so I didn't need to go inside to order.
I ordered a large calzone with pepperoni, mushrooms, and sausage. It was terrific! It is served with a side of pizza sauce, which makes it even better. Overall, I had a great lunch and will definitely be coming back!
Good sausage. Good pepperoni. Lots of cheese
This place is a legend when it comes to Italian food. Ask anyone and they will tell you they have the best Calzones and pizza in town. But of course they also have many more menu items.
Their pizza is awesome, no question about it. However, their prices are extremely steep. The most I ever paid for a large deep dish in the decade I lived in Chicago, was $28. But, this isn't Chicago, it's Rock Island, people. I had a large pizza which is $32.70 on the menu, no drinks, and with tip, I spent $45. A large at Frank's or Harris is $20. Is Huckleberry's worth double? It was good, but not THAT good. I'll eat at Harris or my beloved Frank's twice, thanks.
