My husband and I stopped in yesterday for the first time for a late lunch. First off, the decor is beautiful and the bar stools are the most comfortable you'll ever sit in. The waitress/bartender, McKenzie, was very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive, but not inteusively. The food was excellent (Power Salad and BLT), and the portion size was perfect; not a ridiculous amount, and not too
Came in from Lincoln, NE. They were not open yet and Stephan pulled us off the street and let us in early. From the start, the service was excellent. If you get the chance to have Stephan as your server, you got lucky. Food was excellent and the establishment was clean and everyone was really friendly. I'm giving it 5 stars to help boost it because some of these reviews are unfair for a place barely open for a month. Would recommend to anyone that visits.
This is a brand new place in downtown Rock Island, and I really hope they can stick around. The Ale House is replacing Bennagan's, which had really deteriorated. This is a huge upgrade. A great place for burgers and local beer. I had the Fish and Fries, and it was the best fried fish I've had in a long time. You know how some fried fish is basically half breading? This wasn't like that at all. It was all fish, with a light crispy breading. Plus the thick steak fries are delicious.
